Wilder Systems Deploys Automated Sanding Robot Cell at Hughes Bros. Aircrafters

Austin, Texas (February 12, 2026) – Wilder Systems today announces the successful design, build, and integration of a custom automated robotic sanding cell for Hughes Bros. Aircrafters in Southgate, California. This deployment marks a significant milestone in Wilder System's mission to deliver advanced automation solutions that resolve complex manufacturing challenges.

The new sanding cell addresses critical needs in the production process, specifically targeting labor-intensive and hazardous manual sanding tasks. By leveraging built-in compliance in the sanding end-effector, custom suction grip fixtures, and pre-programmed sanding paths built from a digital twin, the system ensures consistent surface finish quality while significantly reducing cycle times and operator fatigue.
